How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I started my weight loss journey on 28th June 2020, so it's taken me around 1 year and 6 months to lose 8st 2lbs114lbs51.7kg, going from 19st 5lbs271lbs123kg to 11st 3lbs157lbs71.3kg today.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I needed to lose weight for my joints (knees). They were becoming increasingly painful when getting out of chairs, the bath etc., and I also didn’t want to get into my old age and be overweight and unhealthy.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I heard about Nutracheck from a YouTuber who also had a lot of weight to lose and thought that I would look into what the app had to offer. I'm so glad that I did – it's been a life changer.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I've always had weight problems even as a child, but in 2015 (at my heaviest of 21st 7lbs), I started a programme with my GP and local gym and lost 7 stone. Sadly, I put 5 stone back on. That's when I found Nutracheck, and it's been great from then on. This time around, I know that the weight will stay off.

What was the most difficult thing?

I suppose the most difficult thing initially was keeping within my macros and trying to balance the food groups. I still go over my sugar some days but can keep it fairly equal most of the time.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I feel 100% better nowadays. I suffer with mental health problems and at my heaviest, I just didn't want to leave the house. Now I can't wait to get outside and get some fresh air or go shopping. I've also become more sociable and don't feel as nervous talking to people. The health benefits are great, and I feel so much better.

Any notable milestones to report?

My biggest milestone came when I got to 14 stone. This was the lowest that I can remember being as an adult and thus getting to that weight made me feel that I could actually do it. Every stone after that has been beneficial for me.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Try to follow the plan as closely as you can – keep your water intake up, eat your 5-a-day and stick closely to the calories that Nutracheck has set you.
  2. Walking is a great and cheap form of exercise. When I first started, I could only walk up and down my street (about 10 minutes worth). Now I go out for an hour at a time some days – it's great for your joints.
  3. Start off small and work your way up. Don’t set too big a goal – that way, you’ll easily meet your targets, and the slog won’t be as hard. Slow and steady wins the race.
