What calorie inake would you suggest for my daughter?

Hi Angela wonder if you could give my daughter some advice? its her prom in May and she wants to know how many cals she should be having a day as she needs to lose a little bit for the perfect look. If i give you her height and weight would that be any help or will it be on the chart on the profile page on here?

As it's her Prom year, can I guess that's she?s round 16? If so, you can expect her calorie requirements to be a few per cent higher than an older womans, and I?d suggest adding 150 - 200 to our normal recommended minimum. The main issue with teenagers dieting too drastically is the danger that they could miss out on nutrients - particularly things like calcium - at such an important time of life. And, of course, that it could create an unnecessary fixation with body image. That said if she is in her mid to late teens then something around the 1600-1800 calorie mark should help her to shed a few pounds safely and gradually if she really needs to. If you want to give me more precise info, please do so, but I think this sounds about right.
