I can't eat yeast - am I mssing out on nutrients?

I cannot eat any product containing yeast, as I have a yeast allergy. I can eat small amounts of cheese and I eat wraps. Just wanted to check if I am missing out on any nutrients by not eating yeast? Thanks

Yeast does contain a few nutrients, namely B vitamins, however there are other sources of these vitamins so excluding yeast from your diet shouldn't have any negative effect as long as you are getting a good balance elsewhere in your diet.

Other good sources of B vitamins are fortified breakfast cereals, eggs, fruit and veg and milk so just make sure that you eat a wide range of other foods to compensate.

If you're avoiding certain foods such as bread because of your yeast allergy, just make sure that you're getting a source of carbohydrates elsewhere. This will help you to have the right balance in your diet, and give you appropriate energy levels.
