Can you suggest some good carbs to boost energy?

I have been with nc for 5 weeks and I thought I was having a balanced diet but I have ran out of steam, I am very very tired. because I can not have gluten it means very little bread ( gluten free bread) I haven't had any rice or potatoes either this week, could you tell me what good carbs to go for?

Hi, thanks for your question,

I wonder are you eating enough calories, and always getting your  5 a day? Also have you cut out any other food groups that could lead to you having a low iron level? It might be a good idea  to make sure you are including lean red meat, along with pulses (a great source of gluten-free carbs by the way), green vegetables, sardines and other canned fish with bones. You say you haven’t had any rice or potatoes recently, but these are good carbs and should be eaten to make sure you get enough  carbohydrate energy.

Are you getting enough advice on how to eat a healthy gluten free diet, because this should be available to your from a dietitian if you have been diagnosed with coeliac disease. Please do try to avail yourself of this service as I think it will help you a lot.
