Nutracheck already factors BMR calories into your personal calorie allowance. So when we pull the calories burned figure from your Fitbit, we only count actual exercise you have done or steps taken. If we imported all BMR calories burned, there would be an element of double counting and we want to ensure that the calories burned figures used are in your best weight loss interest i.e. not over stated.

No – it is not necessary to reduce your food intake by 200 calories if you don't achieve the exercise target, however any exercise you can do, helps you to lose weight at the rate you selected.
To lose 1lb a week you need to create a calorie deficit of between 500-600 calories a day. This is best achieved through a combination of eating less and increasing your activity level – hence why you are also set a target to burn 200 calories each day in additional activity.

You will still lose by controlling your food intake, but without the exercise, your weight loss may be slightly slower. The figures for calories burned by the activities in our exercise database are calculated based on a member's individual weight. This is picked up from the last entry you made into your Progress chart – so it is important to keep this updated each week. The Nutracheck Pedometer Calculator assumes a walking speed of 3mph and an average stride length of 2,000 steps per mile.
Please try unlinking your Fitbit and re-linking it with Nutracheck to see if this helps.
Then ensure that your Fitbit has synced with your online Fitbit account. Your steps need to be showing on your Fitbit dashboard for Nutracheck to pull them into your diary. If they are there, everything should start syncing again.

Yes, you can choose between two different diary views – 'Separate' food and exercise targets or 'Combined' food and exercise targets.
This setting adds any calories you burn in exercise back onto your food allowance. We recommend this view for people who do a lot of exercise on a daily basis, as they will probably need to eat a few extra calories in order to fuel their high activity levels.
Note! Nutracheck sets everyone an exercise target of 200 calories to burn each day. The Combined Diary view deducts your 200 calorie exercise target from your food allowance at the start of the day on the assumption that you will always achieve this as you are pretty active. This is why you will notice your GOAL is 200 calories less. However, as you exceed your exercise target, the calories will be added onto your food allowance and you can eat back these additional calories if you wish.
This setting assumes you are not very active and are trying to build more exercise into your lifestyle. It keeps your food and exercise targets separate, so you can see how many calories you've burned through additional activity. The exercise calories are not added onto your food target to eat back.
To change your diary view, open the Nutracheck App and tap the green menu button to the right of the search bar > Diary Preferences > Diary Totals.

The Fitbit figures are obtained directly from your online Fitbit account. They cannot be updated or deleted – this will need to be done directly through your Fitbit account.
It really comes down to how you feel. If on the days you're exercising you find youself getting hungry, then it's advisable to eat some calories back. However if you are feeling okay, then don't.
The main thing is to listen to your body and not let yourself get to a point where you're so hungry you'll be tempted to binge-eat. You need to ensure you are keeping your blood sugar levels consistent by eating small regular meals and snacks – preferably low GI foods that release energy slowly. Examples of good food choices – wholemeal toast with 100% nut peanut butter; tuna pasta salad made with wholewheat pasta; baked sweet potato with beans or spicy sweet potato wedges.
In summary, we wouldn't advise you to eat all the extra calories you've burned if you're hoping for the extra exercise to help speed up your weight loss. But if you do feel the need to eat a bit more on a particular day, then you can do so, knowing you've earned this flexibility.
No, this function is not available for activities added from linked devices.
Once your Fitbit device has been linked to Nutracheck, we will pull your activity data for the past 14 days into your Nutracheck exercise diary. Note: if you have previously entered activity into your Nutracheck exercise diary manually, you will need to review and remove any duplicate entries.
We assume that most people take 2,500 steps each day as standard, unless very sedentary. The pedometer calculator only starts counting steps you take above this i.e. 2,500 steps are deducted from the number you enter as these are taken as a 'given'. If you add a second pedometer entry into your exercise diary later in the same day, these steps are added onto your first entry.
The calculation for calories burned is based upon your personal body weight – this is picked up from the last record entered into your Weight Tracker chart (so keep this up to date!). It also assumes a walking speed of 3mph and an average stride length of 2,000 steps per mile.
Invest in the best quality model you can afford for maximum accuracy. If your pedometer is calibrated for your stride length / body weight and gives a calories burned figure, we recommend that you enter this calories burned figure into your Exercise Diary using the manual add option.
