Will herbal diet pills help me lose weight?

I went to a health food shop on Thursday just for some multi vitamins and noticed a whole range of herbal diet pills, all to be taken whilst following a calorie controlled diet. Well as I'm on one I thought I'd ask the assistant to recommend some to me that seemed popular at the moment. I ended up with something called 'KLB6' apparently they help speed your metabolism. They have Kelp, Soya, Lecithin, Vit B6 and cider vinegar. Are they going to do anything to help or have I lost more pounds than the 14lbs lost in weight so far???

Although I don't know the specific product in question, I'm afraid I have seen very little evidence to support the fact that herbal diet pills can significantly help with weight loss. In my view, if you are eating a healthy, balanced diet, you should be getting all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients you need for your metabolism to work at its most efficient. And that includes burning fat!

Having said that, everyone's body is unique and different and you could find that they are of some benefit to you. You will only find out by trying them, but I wouldn't set your expectations too high!

Of course, there is always the psychological advantage that you may feel you have invested your money and that you are doing something extra to help your diet. This may boost your motivation, if not your metabolism!
