Q.

My stomach is bloated and hard

Hi, I gained a lot of weight over about six months and I am now trying to lose it, however I suffer horribly from a bloated stomach, its like rock it doesn't squeeze in like normal fat. I don't have regular bowel movements, it's not painful, I just don't go very often (sorry for all the info) so I think this could be the problem? How can I help my stomach out and my toilet going more regular?!

On a totally unrelated subject I've also been experiencing a lot of dizziness, but I'm not starving myself or even very hungry so what do you think this could be down too?

I sounds like you may be constipated, but you can only really find out by getting your bowels to move more often and then seeing if your hard, bloated tum improves.  Eating three whole grain portions (where one portion could be a slice of wholemeal bread, a bowl of bran flakes or 3 tablespoons of brown rice or whole-wheat pasta) combined with your 5 a day fruit and veg should more than do it, and if it doesn’t, then it's time to have a chat with your GP.

In fact you should also really see him or her about the dizziness, as this could be down to very many conditions not your food. Light-headedness combined with pale skin, poor concentration and fatigue can be caused by iron deficiency so this is something to consider, but talk through all the possibilities with your GP.
