Any ideas for really nice drink to replace wine??!

I drink about two to three generous glasses of wine most nights. It is a habit which I know I must break. I don't like sweet fizzy drinks and wonder if I would be better drinking smoothies or something really nice. I drink lots of water but in winter it just doesn't do it for me. Any suggestions for really nice drinks besides tea which I love - 4-6 cups a day.

Hello there,

 

Well, as most people could save themselves some valuable calories by cutting back on wine, this is a good question.  Your suggestion of smoothies would certainly be more nutritious, but do be careful with your choice as some can be quite calorific!  Fresh juices are another option and diluted with some fizzy water make a refreshing long drink that tastes so much better than sweet fizzy drinks.  If you are feeling adventurous, you could consider buying a juicer and make your own fruit and vegetable juices perhaps…..

 

Have you tried fruit and herbal teas as an alternative to ordinary tea?  They can also be very refreshing.  Or make your own, for example, with some hot water, grated fresh ginger and a thick slice of lemon.

 

I would suggest that you experiment and see what you like best!  Then sit back, sip your drink and feel very virtuous!
