I've been on weight watchers for 18 months, at first I lost a lot of weight but now I'm not losing any. This is the reason why I have changed to this diet, my only concerns are that my calorie and fat intake will increase; surely this will cause me to put more weight on?
Please help!
First of all let me reassure you that it is very common for weight loss to slow down and stop when you have been doing any diet for a long time. Your body tends to get used to a certain way of eating and adapts to it. The best thing you can do when this happens is change things around ? and this includes your diet and your exercise routines.
So, the fact that you have changed your method of dieting is probably a very good idea! It may seem strange at first to not be counting points and monitoring your calories and fat, but it will probably mean that you change your diet and start eating new foods, which is always good from a healthy eating and nutritional perspective.
Try not to worry about increased calories and fat. When you joined, your personal assessment will have given you individual guidelines that are right for you, based on the information you gave. Our system is about giving slow, steady weight loss, in a sustainable way, whilst providing enough calories to ensure adequate nutrients if you eat healthy, balanced meals. If you stick within the guidelines you have been given, you will lose weight ? just give it some time!
However, I would say that losing the last bit of weight, particularly that last half a stone, can be the most difficult on any diet and you may need to increase your exercise to burn off more fat. My advice is to make the most of the new tools you now have to hand - use the exercise diary and activity database and look at the meal suggestions to give your diet an overhaul. Good luck!
