How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

Since joining the program originally in 2012 I have lost 6st 4lbs88lbs40kg. However my most recent and most determined effort started on 1st August last year and in the 8 months since then I've lost 4st 7lbs63lbs28.5kg

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

In 2012 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I made a conscious effort to get my weight down and indeed did lose about 2 stone. However I became complacent and whilst my weight did not go back to the 20 stone280lbs127kg it had been it never dropped much below 18st 5lbs257lbs116kg. In August 2018 my blood sugar levels were the worst that they had been ever. I decided that it was time to take control of my weight once and for all.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I originally heard about Nutracheck when it was the Boots diet. I can't honestly remember where I heard about it, just glad I did.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

My weight has stayed fairly consistent over the years although it was consistently in the obese range. It never really dropped much below 18st 5lbs257lbs116kg.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

Initially it was quite difficult but within a couple of weeks I felt that I was happy that it was manageable and sustainable.

What was the most difficult thing?

Initially I think that the most difficult thing was really having to watch how much I was eating and getting into the habit of recording everything I ate (before I ate it).

How do you feel now compared to before?

There is really no comparison, I have never felt so healthy. With the weight loss my blood pressure has dropped to a very healthy level as have my blood sugar levels. I am now half way through the NHS Couch to 5K program which would have been unthinkable before. I am very conscious of what I am eating and feel very confident that I can sustain this as a lifestyle change.

Any notable milestones to report?

My most important milestone would have to be getting a great report from my doctor and being taken off one of my diabetes tablets with the likelihood that I will probably be taken off more. Other benefits are seeing me drop from a waist size 44 inch jeans to a 34 inch and having to replace all my XXXL shirts with XL (I need XL for the length now not the girth)

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

I would say to anyone trying to lose weight, stay motivated and don't give up if you have a bad day. Keep a diary of everything that you are eating (that is where Nutracheck comes into its own) . I also found that having low calorie snacks in the fridge was a real help. I really got to love celery sticks and cherry tomatoes.
