Everyone's weight loss journey is unique. Nutracheck's nutritionist Emma asked four women who have all dramatically changed their lives and health about their keys to success.
"I had my son in 2018 and wanted to lose the baby weight. I've always yo-yo dieted so this time I wanted a long-term lifestyle change for sustainable, better health. I shifted my mindset, realising I needed a simple plan. I avoided using my car and I got outside and walked. It was important I tracked my journey and Nutracheck was a fantastic solution. It recorded my food intake and educated me about nutrition, and the forum was great for tips and advice. I feel the best I've ever felt – both fitter and healthier. I also now have a healthy mindset which has been so important in embracing my new lifestyle."
"I was thoroughly fed up with my size, and my dad had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I realised I needed to reduce my own health risks. My husband, Martin, joined Nutracheck to lose weight too. It was the flexibility of Nutracheck that was a lifesaver. I could adjust my targets for more relaxed Saturdays and social occasions – and even enjoy the odd takeaway! Losing weight has changed my whole lifestyle – I feel like a different person. I'm far more active, and still get a buzz from buying clothes in my new size! I’m proud I've done something so positive for my long-term health."
"I was miserable with how I felt and looked, I didn't have any desire to go anywhere or see anyone because I felt so low. In my opinion, completely cutting out everything you enjoy is not sustainable or realistic. As I have a sweet tooth, I'd have a nice pudding or chocolate bar at the end of the day. The Nutracheck app taught me it's not necessarily what you're eating, but how much! I'm now focusing on the finer details such as my water and protein intake. I'm 40lbs down, and only have 13-15lbs to go. I feel like me again! I've got loads of energy, enjoy exercise and walking with my family. I've created a new lifestyle which makes me very proud and excited for my future."
"When my mum passed away from complications of lifestyle diseases, diabetes and heart disease, I knew I was heading the same way if I didn't change my lifestyle. I started working out with a personal trainer. I found exercise motivated me to not ruin all my hard work with nutrition. Plus I walked more than 10,000 steps every day. It was important for me to be accurate with calorie and protein intake to reach my weight loss and fitness goals, which is where the Nutracheck app came in. To say I feel absolutely fabulous is an understatement! I can't begin to describe how good I feel in my body and mind – the list of improvements is endless."
"Listening to these women tell their stories shows how we need to find our own formula for success.
"Alison's husband lost weight with her – working towards the same goal made the journey easier. Lucy was spot on about not cutting out everything she loved, as it helped her stay focused. Victoria built activity into her full-on lifestyle with a new baby by walking! It's so simple and effective and it was a huge part of her success. I'm so impressed that Nicoletta made the gym part of her lifestyle change from day one. Making exercise a habit is a great basis for weight maintenance."
All four women also tracked their food and exercise with the Nutracheck app to help them achieve their goals."
