Why can't I shift 8 lbs?

I'm really having trouble starting!! I was here about a year ago and did really well, but the weight has crept back on. I started 3 weeks ago at 10st 11, trying to lose 1.5lbs a week, and I have been really good, always with green ticks and going to the gym 3 times a week, but my weight still has not shifted!! Now this cant be a plateau because I haven't even started to loose weight yet....so whats going on?? Can anyone help or suggest anything? I'm trying to lose 8lbs!

I think the main problem could be that you are trying to lose weight within the healthy BMI range which is always more difficult because your body is essentially already at a weight it is happy with. It also depends where you were in your menstrual cycle when you began! Be patient and the pounds should start to shift, but you may find that 1.5 pounds a week is a little optimistic.  The other thing to consider is how many calories you have actually cut down by. If you feel that you  are eating only marginally less food that previously,  I’d suggest you go down to 1200 calories a day, at least temporarily, to stimulate those initial few pounds being lost.
