What's a high fibre breakfast that's low in sugar & calories?

Hi there, I love Fruit & Fibre for breakfast so that, plus a banana is my usual. But I know that it's high in sugar and calories. I still want to have my fibre intake as this is important but what is an easy and filling breakfast that is lower in calories? I am on around 1400 calories a day to reach my goal weight. Thanks

Thanks for your query!  If you love Fruit and Fibre it’s actually not a bad choice to have for breakfast, with about the same calories as corn flakes and not unduly high amounts of sugar (bran flakes have a similar sugar content).

However if you’d like some cereal options with lower sugar and calories, but at least as much fibre, you could try Raisin Wheats, Shreddies or Optivita Berry Oat Crisp. A whole banana will add around 100 cals to you breakfast, so you could cut down here by swapping to another, lower calories fruit, such as an apple, or handful of berries.

Other possibilities for easy filling breakfasts include a boiled egg with wholemeal toast and Marmite soldiers, two or three lean rashers of bacon with grilled tomatoes or a small bow of porridge made with 1% fat milk.
