Trying to lose weight for my wedding but I'm stuck! Help!

I am trying to lose a few pounds for my wedding in August. I am currently at a healthy weight but just want to shed an extra 7 pounds before the big day so that I can look my best.

I'm keeping a food diary to ensure I don't over eat and I do 5 sessions at the gym a week of quite intense exercise (body pump, body combat) and run as I am training for a half marathon.

The weight just doesn't seem to be shifting - someone has suggested that I am not eating enough but I don't think that is the problem
as I do eat a lot but of the right things. Please help!

Our expert says...

How much do you really want lose the weight? If doing so would take your BMI to below 19-20 it's not sensible of desirable for health reasons. If this isn't the case and you follow a reduce calorie regimen, you must expect the weight to come off slower than it would from someone who is very overweight - perhaps no more than the rate of 0.5 pounds a week on average.

With all your exercise you?ll also have quite a bit if muscle which weighs heavier than fat. That means you might weigh heaver on the scales whilst actually being very trim. I'm not trying to put you off or say you shouldn't lose weight, but you?ll have to accept it might not be terribly easy.

However if you follow the calorie intake you are given to achieve the weight loss you want you should achieve it. Please bear in mind that this might leave you less able to do the exercise at the level you have been doing it however, which could be counter-productive. Schedule carbohydrate snacks after you have exercised to replenish the glycogen in your muscle.
