Struggling from gastro problems, could it be my diet?

Hi I've mostly been eating fruit and veg pulses pasta but lately on and off I've had gasto problems it's been a month now I have been to the doctors and had tablets could it be what I'm eating Thank you greatfully

Thanks for your question.

Quite often when we have gastro problems, it's related to the foods we're eating, so this could very well be the case. You mentioned you've been to the doctors and they have given you tablets - what were these for and what did your GP advise you to do?

If you've just noticed the gastro problems, and you can't think of any obvious changes you've made to your diet, the best thing to do would be to keep notes on when you get your symptoms. In the website, there is a food diary notes section to the right of your diary - so I'd recommend making use of this. Keep an accurate food diary for a few weeks and make a note every time you get gastro problems, and what they are. You can then look back through your diary and try to identify any particular food/foods that could be causing the issue. You may then want to try excluding this particular food for a short while to see if this helps.

However before doing this, I would recommend another chat with your GP as they may wish to refer you to a dietitian who will be able to help you manage the overall balance of your diet.
