Hi, Was just wondering if you can give me some advice as I have been told by my doctor to do more weight bearing exercise to improve bones. Can you tell me what sort of exercise you would recommend for this? Thanks for your help.
Hi,
Weight bearing exercise is any exercise that places a positive stress on the joints and bones in the body (from the contraction of muscles). It can be as simple as walking, jogging or hiking or as varied as: dancing, step aerobics, soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, squash, badminton, golf or stair climbing. Any of these exercises combined or done on their own will really help your bone density.
Hope this helps,
Kelly
